Medicus curat, natura sanat (The doctor cures, nature heals)

The springs of healing water are the reason why the ancient Romans built the thermal baths and the entire settlement of Aquae Iasae in Varaždinske Toplice - one of the most important archeological sites in Croatia.
The remains of temples, forum and thermal baths, statues of goddesses and carved nymphs proudly testify to the magnificent edifice with which the Romans paid homage to this mystical place.

The water here comes from a depth of almost 1800 meters, and its path to the thermal spring, where its temperature is 58 degrees C, takes approximately 20 thousand years. The water is healing because of the minerals calcium and magnesium, and especially sulfur, whose intense scent spills over the source. The Romans knew that this water improves the general condition of patients and helps with rheumatism, arthritis and skin diseases.

Sulfur thermomineral water is still used for spa purposes today. The intoxicating mists of healing water are still here. The murmur of water from numerous springs still echoes through the streets of this small charming town. Everything is still here. A true witness that what is worthwhile really lasts.
